truck stalling
i went to use my truck this morning it started up fine but just as i get to a stop sign and hit the breaks the truck starts to stutter like it was about to stall.
i have the 4.7 L which was working fine last friday when i came back from work. now it has this problem and cant figure out why. i checked the all the fluids and they are all at good lvls. plus i have not gotten any check engine lights so i am really confused. |
Could be anything from bad gas, cold temps, dirty IAC, or TB....many things you can check.
|
....new MOPAR TPS and IAC clean solved it for me.
|
Could also perhaps be an EGR issue. Check engine light may not come on immediately.

DakotaQuad, please provide the year of your truck in your posts.
I looked it up, 2001 Quad Cab, 4x4, 4.7 You don't have EGR so that's out. Just for kicks, try the key dance, not everything will trip the CEL. With the truck not running turn the key to RUN (don't start it) then back to OFF, then RUN, back to OFF, and finally leave it in RUN. Any codes will appear in the odometer. It will say P DONE when finished. How's the battery? If it's even a bit weak the truck can run rough. Dakota's hate low voltage. Since it had sat for a week and you just started it this is why I'm thinking this way. |
according to the battery gauge on the truck its just above the half way point. i will try the key dance tomorrow. and i will check the other parts mentioned thx for the ideas.

thank you for the video. its funny i saw the message pop up as i had been looking for it on the manual lol .
|
well i did the key dance and there is no codes. so i guess when the temp come up above the -13 it is right now i will go and try and clean the TB and the sensors.
|
btw i was just remebering that last friday when i got home from work i had also gotten gas before getting home any of you think it could be the gas affecting the truck engine ?
