2000 dodge Dakota SLT 4x4 4.7liter. With transmission problems.
The check engine came on so I checked the code and it was p1768 which I can not what it is but I figured it was for the transmission since it wouldn't shift right . So I started by checking the 20 amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood , then I checked and replaced the transmission relay which I would love to have the item numbers for the transmission relay. Then I changed the tranny fluid , and the tranny filter along with the tranny cooler filter. I erased the code but it's still not shifting like it should . Any advice or recommendations would be great thanks

P1768 - Relay output always off. Yes, it's for the transmission.
The relay coil is energized via the transmission control module. The coil is grounded at G103, which is on the rear side of the battery box near the leak detection pump. If you follow that harness it should spit off to a ground.
Lots of things use this ground such as the park/turn/marker lights and the wiper motor.
Hope it helps.
