If you have a parts truck it isn't that difficult. You'll need to do some wiring however.

If you want the keyless entry, it can be done too but is a great deal more work and you'd need to get it programmed by a dealer.

The power windows don't run through the CTM, the locks do.

I'm a beginner to this. Love my dakota. How much wiring would I have to do?

I have thought about doing the same thing but a bit different only converting the passenger window to power as that would be easy to do with a dash toggle switch easy wiring also the crank on the drivers side is easy so leave it.

To be able to crack the passenger window would be nice to have the key is to find the proper switch to do a single dash switch.

Even though that window crank does get in the way of my knees at times on long drives.

If you have a donor, you can steal it's harness and door parts.

Without a donor, I would suggest to do the windows only for the reason dakaz noted above.

Found a switch

You can get a mounting plate for this kind of switch at most places I think or cut a hole for it in a good place in the plastic dash.

They show a number of different switches on the same ebay page.

Another option is to install aftermarket power windows and locks. The parts can be bought at a lot of online stores. Amazon, Crutchfield, Sonic Electronix and Ebay all sell what you would need. SPAL is one manufacturer of power window kits and probably has a 4-door kit that has everything needed for installation including the motors, mounting hardware, wire, a master switch for the driver's door and single switches for the other doors. SPAL used to be made in either Italy or Spain and was great quality. I have no idea what they are like now, it has been a long time since I worked with them.

You can also buy aftermarket acutators to mount in each door to operate the door locks, and buy a simple door lock switch online and add it inline on the negative trigger wire for the lock and unlock relays that control the actuators so it will function like a factory door lock switch. Even Pep Boys used to sell a $10.00 door lock actuator. Other than a 5 wire central door locking system, aftermarket power window motors and door lock actuators are all just simple 2 wire reverse polarity motors and are fairly easy to work with. When properly installed they will work very well and last a long time. Aftermarket parts would also probably cost less and be a lot less trouble than adding in the factory parts and wire harnesses for each door. You could even pick up a keyless entry system and a window interface module so you could have keyless entry and also raise/lower the windows from outside the truck. Or add a good remote start unit and interface it with the locks and windows to make the truck do even more tricks.
