Torsion Lift is bad?
 

I got a 2000 dodge Dakota and Im looking to lift it so that I can fit 35's on it.
I found out you can only put a 3inch lift on that year of that Dakota, now If you crank the Torsion bars you can get another 1.5 of a lift (4.5 in total)
BUT some people told me its really bad some people said it wouldn't hurt it. Now the truck is only used for mudding NOT AN EVERYDAY TRUCK. is it worth to crank the torsion bars? how bad is it?

I know plenty of guys that ran with cranked tb's and never had an issue.. I also ran it on my 98 for about 2 years and it was fine..

Even if you do crank the bars, 35s are going to be pretty tight.

I've had mine cranked for well i forgot how long i've had that truck since 2010 i think no issues.

I've even put body lift and bigger tires. the only thing i can say really happens is due to the increased angle alignment is a MUST! other wise your wearing the otter tire.

Secondly I've had to replace both boots on the CV Axels because the boot ripped. but they are factory though after all lol.

But even with 2" body lift and cranked torsions i have 32" with -26 offset and they are really tight at lock hitting bumps it still will rub, that might as well be stock rim wiht 35's def. gonna be tight even with 3" body lift
