Default Buy or not to Buy Urgent

Ok, one of my customers is finally ready to sell his 99 Dakota v8 180k, rust free, with full records and, within the

last three years, head gasket plenum, water pump, he stated there is more that has been done and in the records.

last 6 months tires break lines and breaks.

One owner old man truck.

He asking 4250

The inside looks like he never sat in. Back and forth to Florida and stored in heated garage.

What im planning is a plow truck for this winter.

Here is the rub. 2 years ago I sold my 99 ram 5.9l 220000 miles

Due to non-stop issues with this truck, fix this that breaks the never-ending cycle.

It's Hard to say,, ive been searching for a 2nd gen Dakota for over three weeks, and the prices are all over the place.
Thats a GOOD PRICE for a 4.7 2wd extended cab or 4 door cab, and a very good price for 4WD extended or 4 door cab.
Locally, in my region, Dakotas in the condition you have been describing run about 5 to 6 thousand. and at a dealer they run near to 7

It would be a bit HIGH for a 2WD standard cab

Hows the Paint? any clear coat pealing?

Good ones are getting hard to find.

Sorry 4x4 extended cab.
Paint is in great shape. That i don't really care about. its going to be a solid work truck. I have a nice truck so paint doesn't matter.

I know the man and have done work for him many times over the years, and always fixes any issues I find. So i feel that any issues hes found have been addressed

I almost bought a 09 4 door 4.7 today,, but the interior felt so cheep, plasticly and the cloth in the seats seemed fragile
, i ended up paying about 1/3 less and bought a 04 4 door.
The look and feel of the second gen truck is much better in my opinion, although thats subjective.
The 99's have a different interior and i believe they feel even more well fitted than the 01.
I mean the 99 has a manual 4WD lever whereas the 01 has a dial on the dash.
Without actually seeing it,, it does sound like well cared for truck and a good deal

It would be a shame to take a truck that nice, and hang a blow off the front.
