2001 4.7L Intake Manifold Options

I have a 2001 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 with the 4.7L engine and automatic transmission. I dropped a valve seat which I guess is a common issue. I am looking for a reman engine but all of them insist the intake manifold must be replaced or they won't warranty the engine. I can't find the intake anywhere, except a junk yard. I've been to the dealership, and all of the local parts stores - no joy.

I understand the intake went through several mods but the current model (2008+) will not work with my vehicle because it uses an electronic control and no throttle cable. My intake part number is 53032402AB. Does anyone know which years and a part number that will work in my application that is still available for order from Dodge or an aftermarket vendor?

Found 2002 intake P/N is 53010315AG. 2004 P/N is 53013403AE. I can find both of these. Anyone know if these are the same or can be substituted for mine?

Welcome to the forum.

You dropped a valve SEAL or SEAT. The SEAT would be more likely. In that case you have to remove the intake manifold. You don't to change a valve seal.

If I understand you your replacing your blown valve seat 4.7 engine?

The company supplying the reman engine requires you to replace the intake manifold or they won't warranty the engine?

This is because bits of metal may be inside the intake manifold from the blown valve seat. On this forum we had a post with the same problem a few years back. I suggested just pressure blasting the intake manifold out with lots of engine cleaner then doing an exceptional inspection of the manifold for bits of metal then reuse it.

He had no problems

But that’s your decision to make

Yes, I meant SEAT. Just a typo.
