Default front differential bearings and seals, 4x4

Same as doing the rear? Not the hub bearing, already did those. My passenger seal is leaking. I tried to get the cv axle off but it seems rusted on. Is the front axle held in like the rear, with c clips. Can the cv axle and axle come out as one unit so i don't have to buy a new cv and deal with it.

See this vid, will probably help:

But yes you can as the outer clip tends to rust on to the splines. I need to do this too but my excuse for putting it off is that i only drive my Dak maybe once a or twice a week now

Are these bearings dealer only? Can't find them anywhere. I can get the seal but no bearing.

Nope. Same bearings and seals as a. 7-1/4rear takes. Real common parts fits alot of other brands of cars too, besides Dodge. Chevy and Ford used these same outer axle bearings and seals too

rich1374670x,

I know this thread is over a month old, but I have been doing a lot of research on this since I'm in the same boat for the driver side. I have included a few helpful resources I have found to help you out if not already swapped. I'm curious to know if you found two different bearings on the front differential if you ended up replacing those too. Apparently on some models, a needle bearing is used on the driver side front differential, and a true bearing ring is used on the passenger side front differential. Depending on who you order them from, they will claim they are the same. Most likely you could use the needle bearing on the passenger side, but I would use the bearing ring the driver side if there more force from the short tube (higher moment).

I'm holding out since they are a b*%^$ to replace.
