Won't come out of park

So its definitely in the transmission. Just my luck. Time to start considering options I guess. Thanks everybody for your help

Did you unhook the cable at the transmission and the shifter/cable were still able to move?

Not sure if 2000 would be a threaded or pressed TRS. I would see if you can remove it, and if that takes any load off the shifter pawl.

Ultimately it sounds like it may be directly related to the parking pawl.

Yup. Disconnected cable from trans. Shifter moved freely. Couldn't move shifter at the trans either by hand or hammer. Pulled the pan and tried to move the pin directly. It pulls out one click and that's it. Tried to pry and it still wouldn't budge. Its in the trans
