How to splice 2 injectors for the 3.9 to 5.9 swap

I have the 5.9 engine and i’m currently rebuilding it, but in the meantime i need to know how to splice the 2 injectors on the 3.9 wiring harness. I’ve looked everywhere, but couldn’t find a detailed description of it. If anyone can either give me a detailed description on how to do it or maybe a link that you know of that will show how to do it then it would be much appreciated, thanks

Need a wiring diagram. Factory service manual is your best bet. (I don't know if the Dakota manuals are available in the FAQ/DIY section here... worth a look.) But, injectors get power from a common source, there is a splice in the harness (or two) where the individual wires break out. Injectors are controlled individually though, and you need to wire the ground side of the injector to the correct pin on the pcm connector.

What Heyyou said. Browse my build thread, I have description and photos of how I did it in there.

I was off by a page. I thought it was page 20, it was 19.

If you have a 4x4, then the 2wd harness will not work. The engine harness includes the driveline portion. Also, the ram, ramvan, dakota, and durango engine harnesses are different. They are also different by year grouping (97/98, 99, 00, 01/02, 03/04) and by engine (3.7, 3.9, 4.7, 5.2/5.9). So the overall odds of getting the exact harness for your exact year, body, (desired) engine and driveline is pretty thin. It's easier to just pull the connector apart and stab the 2 extra wires in.

Um what? 4wd and 2wd dont have different harness. Nor does a 5.2 or 5.9. 2wd/4wd magnum v8's are all the same within the year range. Now if the tcase is off an electric shift 4x4 ok. But that doesn't mean he couldnt use the engine harness from one.

Did you ever get the project done? I’m currently doing the same project and I’m at the same point

Hope this helps. The project isn’t finished because i’ve decided to tear the whole truck down and rebuild the whole thing so that’s what i’m doing now
