overdrive mod?
I thought I read that there is a way to mod the OD switch to keep the tranny out of over drive all the time till you push the button.
Am I wrong or is there a way? |
RE: overdrive mod?
there is a way on the older trucks, cant see why it wouldnt work on the newer trucks. Check over on pavement sucks . com in there tech section. I looked in the links I have saved and cant locate it.

RE: overdrive mod?
i bet its as simple as changing the switch from a normally open to a normally closed or vice-versa

RE: overdrive mod?
no, I think it was the pcm needed to see the OD off pulse @ startup, it's not an on/off type of setup, one thing you may be able to do is to put a switch on the OD solenoid, not 100% sure how that would work but it's a thought. have a look at the service manual wiring diagram to be sure.

RE: overdrive mod?
what good would that do really?
you could just leave it off in the first place, then turn it on. ________ JanessaBrazil cam |
RE: overdrive mod?
It's actually a great mod... it sucks when you jump in head on out and your tranny is up shifting into OD @ 35 mph. DC did it that way to help save on fuel. that is one thing i always hated about my truck. 35 mph & in OD.
