RE: Subwoofer Boxes
WHAT CAB STYLE DO YOU HAVE????
I HAVE A 03 QUAD CAB AND I PUT 0NE 10' BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE BACK SEAT AND THE AMP BEHIND THE PASSENGER BACK SEAT!!!!! VERY TIGHT FIT BUT IT SOUNDS VERY GOOD!!!!
I DECIDED TO BUILD THE BOX CUZ IM DAMN GOOD AT THAT ****.. AND THE FINAL PRICE WAS ABOUT $150. OR YOU CAN GO ON EBAY AND YOU MIGHT FIND A 10' SUB AND BOX THAT GOES IN THE SAME PLACE FOR ABOUT $200-$250 AND THAT DOESNT INCLUDE THE AMP

I'm one of those guys who doesn't have a functional workshop anymore so I bought an MTX Thunderform and stuck it behind the driver's side back seat. (quad cab). I prefer the sound of 12s, but there just isn't enough room for one. I mounted my amp under the driver's seat. I've got way more amp than I need, but oh well.

You can sit in it, but you can't flip the bottom up for the cargo space. I SPECIFICALLY asked this question of one of the guys here who sold one of these and he said straight up that you CAN fold the seat up, which is wrong. The box completely fills the space where the seat back slides when folding the bottom up. It goes up ~1" or so.
Sound quality is decent. It's not a 12, not low and rumbly, but it does hit hard. I'm running a Phoenix Gold XS2500 so I'm overpowering the poor little MTX sub by quite a bit, but I just keep the gain turned down.
Here in WA it's illegal to have loose speaker boxes inside your car that aren't bolted down, thanks to some girl who got her head crushed by a sub enclosure in an accident.
