5-Spd Automatic 545RFE Transmission

Question as far as the tranmissions that come inmy Dakota where does the "5-Spd Automatic 545RFE Transmission" rate? ......My thought is you can get a 2007, 1500 or 2500 full size RAM with a 5.7 Hemi and they run this tranmission so I am thinking it would be pretty heavy duty for the Dakota.....am I right ?

they are pretty much bullet proof. its the trannies that come on the 6 cyl. that are not that tuff. also some of these trannies are blowing there frt pump already

umm ok that is a mixed answer are they "bullet proof" or have issues?.....someone else have an idea or more details?.....I have not had an issue with the transmission in either one of my Dakota's and being they use this model in the full size RAM I am hoping that is a good sign.....I am wondering if this tranny needs to beefed up or something......still thiking of adding a extra cooler.

if you plan on towing then get a cooler. if not, its your pref. my 05has 30000 miles on it and it still spins the tires with ease.some people dont put 1000 miles on theres and the frt pump blows out. just a factory flaw. you either get a good truck or not. some people have the brake shuttering and stalling. i have nothing truck has not beenback to dealer for anything.
