02 DAKOTA NO SPARK

Default 02 DAKOTA NO SPARK

I HAVE AN 02 DAKOTA QUAD CAB, IHAVE HAD IT FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHSRAN GREAT. NOW I HAVE LEARNED THAT IT HAS NO SPARK. I DONT HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE WITH NEWER VEHICLES, I DONT REALLY EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START. CAN ANYONE GUIDE ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION?[:@]

Well, ignition systems have always been on cars/trucks. I also think you have your caps lock button stuck. Are you getting spark to any of the plugs? Is it running at all? Is your battery dying/dead? Is your distributor cap loose? Is the rotor spinning? Start with the most simple things first. See if you have spark at the plugs then work back.

Not to be rude but how did you come upon deciding that you don't have any spark...

I SHOULD HAVE LISTED THAT I HAVE 4.7L V8. AS FAR AS I CAN TELL IT DOESNT HAVE A CAP AND ROTOR, THUS MY PROBLEM..

I think the first thing i would do is take off the capps lock, and then try to find the guy who stole your cap and rotor!!

I can tell that I am dealing with a bunch of idiots. This motor has coil packs not cap and rotor. But thanks for the entertainment.
