LA engines

RE: LA engines
History time!
Just like Chevy has their LSx motors, Dodge has LA motors. The LA motors started out with the 273 cid V8 back in the early 60s, perhaps late 50s. I don't have my book nearby so I'm guessing on the timeline. At any rate, the 273, then 318, 340, 360, and 3.9L v6 are all "LA" motors. In the early 90s the LA motors underwent an evolution and the Magnum motors were born. The maindifference is that magnums are multi-port injected (from the factory), compression raised, better heads, intake manifolds, etc.
