hmm...good or bad idea?
Ok here it is again. For the life of me I cannot find a O2 sensor for my 2000 4.7l. so i used the one that its supposed to be and notched out the side of the plug to fit the end thats attached to the truck. I know its not water tight but neither is the plug as it is. do you guys think this is a good or bad idea. Its all i can do.i was desperate. Thanks for your input.

Well if you're not getting any CELs you might try globbing it up with a non-conductive grease and wrapping it in tape to keep corrosion down and water out.
For future reference, just cut the plug off the OEM one and get a universal fit sensor then connect the two.

RE: hmm...good or bad idea?
sorry man Ur post just makes absolutely no since your first post says that you cant splice the OEM part, no room for a splice, which wouldn't call for one any way, then your second one says that the part works fine...
