Default Transmission question.

My transmission doesnt really life to shift when its cold so i have to let go of the gas real quick to make it shift. It's an automatic and a mechanic said to check something called the dtec cable or some throttle valve or something like that thats connected to the transmission. My fluid looks brand new if that helps. I am just wanting to get this taken care of soon lol since it does it every time i drive it till it warms up.

Default RE: Transmission question.

I have the 42re and it does that when its cold. I was told it keeps od off for awhile so its can get up in operating temp sooner. With mine I noticed that on my way to school on a cold day it usually turns od on at the same point going to school every time.
Hopes this helps you a bit.

moe in wichita ks
on older trans 727, 904, if the filter was cloged it would cause it to not go into rev cold made it worse. if its cloged even more forward would act up to. the thing is in rev the line pressure goes to 300 psi requiring more volumm that the cloged filter will not pass.

get in touch with these guys. i have known them from the 60 s they are honest. 90% of ALL trans shops get parts from a & reds. they will know the answer to any question.
