Just an FYI, my Dodge Dakota is 4x4 and has a 15 gallon tank and the engine is a 5.2L V8 which takes 6 qt oil when I do the oil changes.

Cooling System

2.5L : 9.8 qts. (2.45 Gallons)
3.9L : 14.0 qts. (3.5 Gallons)
4.7L : 17.0 qts. (4.25 Gallons)
5.9L : 14.3 qts. (3.575 Gallons)
(5.2L Is most likely close to 14.3 qts)

I just recently replaced my water pump in the 4.7. I replaced hoses and such. This shows about 4 gallons.
Mine seems full at just over 2 gallons. Is just over 2 gallons possibly correct if there is variances in radiator sizes?

That 4 and change gallons is for the ENTIRE cooling system. That includes all the hoses, the heater core, and the engine itself. Make sure you bleed all the air out of the system, and it'll be fine.
