Where is Bank 1 sensor 1 on 2000 Dodge dakota
HI,
I'm trying to find bank 1 sensor 1 (O2 sensor) on a 2000 Dodge dakota, 4.9L engine
Is Bank 1 driver or passenger side?
Please advise were to find the O2 sensor. I thought I spotted it behind the driver wheel, but I don't want to remove the incorrect part.
many thanks
John

I have a $WD quadcab -- could it be north of cat converter?
I checked the items that I can see through the fender well. they appear to be ground straps. One item looks like it screws in to the block. -- to far away from the exhaust manifold
I did find a wired sensor just before the catalytic convertor and another just after the catalytic converter. It was more or on the "exhaust pipe" than the cast-iron exhaust manifold. Could this be the O2 sensor

Yeah. The only things that will be mounted in the exhaust pipe itself will be the o2's. Sensor one is the sensor before the converter, sensor two is post-converter. The Bank refers to the side of the engine, bank one is the side of the engine where the #1 cylinder is, bank two is the bank where cylinder #2 is located.
