Default 1998 Dakota speed sensor cable

I am pretty sure my speed senson cable is bad on my 1998 Dodge Dakota. Anyone have any advice on how to replace it, and any pictures of where it is located at??
Thanks

So what is your problem first? Your speedo doesn't work? As far as I know there hasn't been any speedo cables on Dakotas since 93. If your problem is the speedo then the speed Sensor is faulty. Usually you will get a check engine light too. Just replace the sensor.

The speed sensor is on the rear of the transmission. The sensor on the rear end is for the ABS system.

im having the same problem, the cel is pulling the code for the vehicle speed sensor which is the one on the tranny. abs brake and cel lights are on and speedo or odo dont work until i hit around 65mph. give or take a few mph pending on the day. i replaced the sensor once already with an autozone duralast sensor and still same problem. wiring looks fine. also i did go from 30/9.5/15 to 235/75/15 tires and this happened the day after i got those tires on. any ideas?

if your ABS light is on, replace the axle sensor as well.
