Custom tow hooks

Default Custom tow hooks

Bought a set from jcw.Just the basic hook type tow point. Then i took some 2in 1/4" thick square tubing and cut it about 6 in long. Closed the sides and welded the hook straight to the tubing. I did this to allow the hooks to come down and sit right below my valence. I have a 3 in body lift so some of you might have to come down more or just cut the valence.As you can see i just welded them straight to the frame and boxed around them for strength here are some pics

Nice I would of bolted it down to. Extra protection.

I will post it in the FAQ with other Tow hook installs.

Ohhh...ok, I see now.. Yea, I thought they were full D rings. Good work. I have steel...now for time...

Nice job. Seems pretty easy, I wouldn't mind doing that this summer. I can get the steel from work too.

You are in my head dude! lol im getting them powdercoated along with a set of exhaust tips that are being powdercoated gloss black.

i would trust them thats for sure. the other day me and a buddie was playin in some holes and i realized my truck didnt have and hooks. my buddie jokes and said its cuz dakotas suck. i told him i never noticed my truck didnt have them cuz i havent ever been stuck!! lol but his nissan sure has them ha cuz i had to hook to him and pull him all the way down the mud hole lol

this is now my next project along with a 03+ intake manifold. great post! might have to drop them down a little since I don't have a body lift but I'll make it work. I love the look of the rings hanging there tho.

on the second and third pic is basically all the welds in those pictures, your own? Im just trying to figure out what it looks like without going outside since its ****ty haha.
