Question connecting a pod with gauges

I always wanted to put a pod with 2 or 3 gauges on the left side plastic that runs between the windshield and drivers door. I do not know how to make the gauges work though so I never bought them. This site below seems to have good instructions. Has anyone ever had a pod with gauges. I was thinking of this one

With this type of gauges

Glowshift is cheap which is very nice considering that all the others are like 50.00 more(depending what size you get). Only down fall I hear of them is their fitment is bad. I want to install one in my truck but no way im spending like 200.00 for everything . I look around online for used ones going up for sale.
