Default IOD Fuse Challenge

Working on a 2000 Dakota. One night, all lamps in the cab suddenly turned on after I close the door. The only way I managed to turned off was by pulling the IOD fuse.

Does any one know where the internal lamps switch is on the door's frame?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

The switches are NOT on the frame. They are part of the door latch assembly.

From the FSM:

The door ajar switches are integral to the door latches on each door. The switches close a path to ground for the Central Timer Module (CTM) when a door is opened, and open the ground path when a door is closed.

The door ajar switches cannot be repaired and, if faulty or damaged, the door latch unit must be replaced.

The switch is in the door jam on my truck, its plain as day obvious its a plastic 1/4 inch wide like piston with a 1 inch wide flat rubber base, my stuck one time silicone lube and was fine. It was a 99 though idk if it changed in 2000

Thank you guys for the suggestions. From them, it seems that the problem would be the door latch assembly. I will check it closely.

Thank you again.
