On my 2001 dodge dakota I'm wanting mirrors that are a tab bigger and foldable what ones can I put in that will fit with no problem? Can I use the ram 1500 mirrors? Or dose it have to be the heated ones for Dakota's that comes optional?

Question Ram Mirrors

I have a 2002 and I just finished putting on Ram 1500 mirrors. It can be done, the adjustment motors will work and as will the heater. Its not a straight up pull the Dakota mirrors and bolt on the Ram mirrors. Some cutting, grafting and modifying of both the Dakota and the Ram mirrors will be required. But, IMHO, the work is worth the reward.

If I have piqued your interest let me know.

I've seen 94-01 Ram mirrors on Daks before that almost looked like a stock fit.

Probably be even simpler than TheB2b suggested if you don't have power mirrors.

Here is what my Dakota looks like with the mirrors attached, and when I'm towing my camper they allow me to see down the sides of the trailer when fully extended.

there are some bigger mirrors that came with the dakotas/durangos. but they don't stick out like the b2b's. they do fold in and electric. you should be able to find some at a pick and pull pretty cheap.

I swapped out the sport mirrors on my Durango for the 01-03 tow mirrors. Even though my old mirrors weren't heated the wires for the heat were already there too, so all I had to do was switch the connector on the mirrors over to match the connector on my 99. They look much better than the small sport mirrors and the 98-00 dumbo mirrors if you ask me. The visibility with them is much better and they do fold too.
