The valve kit it should include the extractor the brass valves are not used on the Dakota

Does your friend with the shop have an electronic leak detector? That's the best way to find leaks. Put about 1/2lb. of refrigerant in the system and sniff around all the connections with the leak detector. Stick it in the inside vents to see if the evaporator is leaking.

True a leak detector is the best if you can get your hands on one.

The dye is old school but still used by most as its easy just to pump the dye in and it cost the shop almost nothing.

Yeah his machine that pumps refrigerant in also tells if there is a leak but doesn't tell you where to look haha
