4.7 Dakota won't start
2000 4.7 Dakota won't start. Truck has ran fine. Have a good battery. Always starts right up. Cut a load of firewood. Got in truck to start it and it would hit and die. It would hit and die. Tried shooting ether in it same thing. Left it until the next morning. Went back with a friend and tried it. Nothing. Would crank fine but never hit at all. We towed it home. Next morning went out and tried it and it started right up. Turned if and tried it again. Started right up. Took it for test drive and it died within 1/4 mile. Towed it back up to house. Cranks fine but doesn't hit at all. Replaced crankshaft sensor no help. Is not putting out any engine codes. Anybody got any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum.
How'd you test the battery?
Just for starters, put a voltmeter on the battery and watch it. Make sure the alternator is working correctly. Dakota's hate weak electrical systems and will either not start or start and die.
You might also check the fuel pressure. You can rent/borrow a gauge from most parts stores. It should be about 49 psi.
