Oil Pump Questions

Have you seriously opened the oil passages?
The engine builders around here tend to stick with regular oil pumps, unless they're building a super-high-RPM motor.
One side effect is that a high volume pump will wear the back of the cam / the distributor bushing (or intermediate shaft bushing, don't remember which way the LA and Magnum do it) faster. This is a reoccuring theme in the "We fix it!" threads on Car Craft or Hot Rod magazine.
