Screw the mufflers, go strait pipes. Cops can hear ya a mile away, but so can everybody else, which can be kind of fun.

Hi, we just put a system on my son`s truck, we used the gibson shorty headers gp301 and the magnoflow pipes out of a 40 series flowmaster, bought them on e-bay around 500.00 for the whole system installed everything ourselves, sounds great and really added a little snap to the truck, (5.2 4x4 dakota slt 1999) >> They have a deep rumble not to loud untill you punch it.. hope it helps Bill

Keep one thing in mind. Air carries momentum just like a solid object. the baffles in a flowmaster exhaust will require sharp 90 degree turns all throughout the muffler, while a magnaflow exhaust is just a simple straight through design. It will give you more power by design. Although it may be louder becuase of this. But i like the sound better. Flowmaster always sounded a little fake and forced to me.

Nothing forced or fake about going from 2.25" to a full 3, even if there are 90 degree bends in it. Also i like being able to idle in front of my house at 6am before i go to work and not wake up the entire block (just the people down the street when i punch it and set off their car alarm).
