truck dies when i take my foot off the gas
i had to change my selonoid for my plow today and when i hooked the battery back up, the truck will start but as soon as i take my foot off the gas it will die out, there are no codes coming up. i dont see anything from the plow that would affect the truck at all. Its a 2000 dakota 4x4 3.9 liter.

Sounds like your TPS may be going out BUT FIRST reset your ECM, disconnect the battery turn the key to start and hold for 10 seconds or so let truck sit for 10 min with no battery connected. Reconnect battery, start truck let run for 10 min shut off turn on let run for 10 min shut off turn on go drive, don't get on it just a nice 10 min cruse this should help, if not check your TPS (Throttle Position sensor) with a meeter.

RE: truck dies when i take my foot off the gas
mine did this not too long ago and all i did was cleaned the battery terminals
i know you said you had yours off ,but just try cleaning them and reinstalling
but remeber once power is taken away from the computer it will need to relearn or reset itself may take alittle to get it back too normal
worth a try anyway

RE: truck dies when i take my foot off the gas
i had this problem with my 98 dakota 3.9 no plow or anything all i did was take out the idler moter from the air intake and clean it, $$ is a little tight for me, but a new unit should only cost like $50 at your local auto store, but take the old one out and see what it looks like, mine had a covering of carbon on it while a new one would be almost the same color as brass see if this helps. BTW my truck also would not start sometimes without hitting the gas, let me know if that works
