5.7 Hemi spark plugs change?
 

What happens if I take too long to change my spark plugs? My truck has 41,000 miles and it still has the original spark plugs, it runs good and I haven't had any problems at all. I know they are supposed to be changed every 30,000 miles but I'm waiting for the holidays when I have time to take it to the dealer. Is it too bad if I keep it this way? I don't use my truck daily if that helps, but I might have to take a short trip.

You'll get poor mileage and poor performance, but you shouldn't do any damage to your engine if that is what you need to know.

Pull one on the combustion side to see if it is fouled, but it can not hurt your engine as stated,

Yeah, I should take a look on one, and yes I was concerned that my engine might get messed up. Thanks for the replies.

I ran 130k on my factory spark plugs and never had a problem, after changing them they were bad..really bad, but with the new platinums in i noticed very small gas mileage improvement...1/4-1/2mpg's. I would recommend changing them but no rush, if they look reasonable when you pull one.

Take your time and get wobble extensions for the rears!!

5.7 L Spark plug recommendations
 

I just bought 8 platinum power Champions and 8 double platinum Champions, because the part stores computer recommended it for the exhaust stroke (an emmissions thing).

Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with using other than OEM copper plugs? Any recommendations on things you've tried and that have been successful. I don't like what the dealer charges every 30k miles for service:(

Does it matter if I got the bosche iridiums instead of champions?

The oem Champion Copper RE14MCC4 plugs work really well, and Autozone has them for $1.99 each.

You can run them for 60K, and have no issues. Whatever the case, I would run the same plug in all 16 holes.

If I were to run Plats, I think I would research the oem Champion equivalent, and run with that.

I did just that with a set of plugs when I had my 01 D 4.7, and they were flawless for the 50K I ran them.
