New to Chrysler/Dodge
 

Hi, im new to this forum and well i joined the Dodge forum cause we have a 2007 Chrysler Aspen 4.7 RWD. Your thinking a Chrysler, yes Chrysler cause they did not have the Durango and the Aspen was the same thing just Chrysler. The other reason i joined is because the Chrysler Forum was dead and no help there at all so i decided to join the dodge forum for more info on our cars.

We owned a 2007 Pontiac Grand prix before and loved it till we had to trade it for a bigger car to fit out family and thus we found the Chrysler Aspen. Im huge Chevy guy and im part of the Grand Prix Forums, but im also going to be part of this forum because of our SUV and im starting to like Dodge cars such as the Charger. BUT im still a GM guy, but i like these dodge cars/trucks. I hope to find out more info here than i did at the Chrysler forum cause they were no help at all.

One reason i joined is we have the 4.7L Gasoline Engine same on the Duragno and we want to clean the Throttle Body. How do we get to it? If you guys need me to post in the right section let me know were and i will. Thanks and great to be part of this forum too.:icon_cool:

Welcome to DF! To get to the throttle body, remove all the intake ducting and silencer plastic pieces and there it is. If it is the same as my 4.7L on my Dakota, it is easy to remove for cleaning. Disconnect the throttle /cruise cables, electrical connectors for the IAC and TPS and then unbolt it from the manifold. You can probably post your questions in the Durango section. Not sure though.

Thanks, ill take a look at the TB when i get a chance on friday and take off the intake stuff and take a look. i dont know if the TB is dirty or not but when i accelerate it lacks power. Like if i push down half way it feels like and sounds like im doing only quarter or less throttle. And sounds muzzled too, the engine.

Start with tune up basics as well. PLugs, wires, filters, fluids.

We got a new K&N Air Filter about 15-20k miles ago but i think we need a clean cause we went up north (Live in so cal) and got a bunch of bugs in the grille im sure some found there way into the filter. Oil was changed 4200 miles ago and going to change it at the 6k mark. And the Spark plugs we are thinking of changing in the summer.

Ok thanks, i did not know the dakota was similar too. Ill post a new thread on how to get to the TB. Ill first check tomorrow and see if the thing is dirty first of all.
