Default K&N Air filter

Has anyone used the drop in air filter from K and N. My girlfriend got me one for valentines day... nothing says i love you more than mods for your truck.

i was just wondering if anyone had some real world experience with them. I know it wont be a drastic change, im just curious as to whether or not someone who has them in their 4.7 or 5.7 has had any notiecable changes. From what i have been hearing they make a big difference in smaller engines like 4 bangers but little or no difference in 8 and 6 and cylinder engines. I figure anything is better than those bloody paper things that come stock.

Thanks in Advance

I have a K&N drop in filter (part#33-2288). I got it right after we purchased the Durango so I really have nothing to base it on. I bought it so I wouldn't have to buy another air filter again. But now I think I should've just went to a CAI from the beginning.

I have one in my 04 Hemi. I drove it for about 10K without one at the beginning and since with 17K I have averaged anywhere to 0.5 to 1.0 mpg better. No noticable performance gain.
