Gauging interest in RWD Intrepids...

Ok, so a friend and I have sucessfully finished a 99 Intrepid with an old school 318/727 swap... My next step is to do so with a 5.2 (318) Magnum engine to see if the truck computer will run the car dash. I`m also using the 46RH trans and 9.25 rear out of a truck. I am going to do some performance tests and see what kind of mileage I can get as well.

If you guys have any other questions just let me know.

BTW there is a nasty turbocharged 360 (or 408 stroker) in the works for later on down the road :)

We have some video on youtube of the completed one... It`s kind of slapped together and not very pretty, but we just wanted to see if it would work. They are on my friend`s account - Cumminsboy69711. We kind of kicked ourselves for not taking any pics during the process, but my plan is to take lots of pics on this build. We were also lazy and threw out the front sway bar because it was in the way and didn`t reuse the rear at all either, so I plan to do it right and use them both this time around.

Well, I'm getting ready to start on this project, gonna bring the car to the shop and start removing the engine/trans. Also, looks like I'll be able to get a 360 easier than I can a 318, so I'm not going to be terribly concerned with checking mileage as I'm sure it's not going to be above 15mpg since I don't plan to run any lower than 3.21 gears. So, I'll be sure to take lots of pictures during the install. Hopefully it goes as smooth as the last one, I have surgury on the 18th, so I may get cut short of finishing it for a while since I'll be on crutches for 6 weeks :(

I'd post up some underhood pics, but it's pretty ugly under there yet... I'm still working on getting everything cleaned up under there (wires everywhere). I'll have plenty of time to do so too; I have to come up with $100 for a Cam Position Sensor and a Crank Position Sensor. I knew this thing was gonna nickel and dime me to death, but sheesh, this is ridiculous!

Thanks, I just wish it would run... I hate being broke. Bonus is I start working at an Advance Auto Parts store in two weeks, so I will eventually get some money to get this thing going.

I live in a county that doesn`t have emissions testing, but I do believe that a 97+ truck engine with dual cats would probably pass an emissions test geared towards an R/T Intrepid...

Figured I'd share the fact that I got ot running (sort of)... It's only hitting on six cylinders due to two bad injectors. I picked up a good used set, but I haven't had time to install them :(

BTW shadowthedakota, just get a PO box in a town/county that doesn't have the emissions testing and you would be fine as well. Just register it to that address :)
