1999 intrepid transmission issues
 

I have a 1999 2.7L intrepid. The speedo just stopped working then heard a clunk like a down shift to 1st gear. I now have a check engine light and the transmission wont shift up. I tried to drive it and the tranny is erratic going from 1st to reverse and then it shifts alright. Some one told me input/output speed sensors. Where are they on the tranny and how do I change them. I dont have a scan tool but may purchase one so what style of scanner should I get?

Hey Buddie,
The sensors are on the drivers side of the transmission. I would replace both of them. I think for both there around $50.00. You really don't need a scan tool. I have a 1995 3.3l V6 and all I do is the key trick to pull the codes from the PCM. Anything else I can help you with buddie?
