Lights Blink on their own.
I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepid with approximately $44,000 miles on it. My headlights and dashboard lights have started blinking whenever they feel like it. It usually only last a few seconds but it is very annoying. Has anyone else encounteredthis problem? Does anyone know what might cause this or what can be done to fix this problem?

RE: Lights Blink on their own.
I have a99 Intrepid ES that the headlights and interior lights started blinking a couple of years ago. Also, the alarm went off erratically for no reason. The lights and alarm still are erratic occasionally. I have had it to the dealer once but they couldn't find anything wrong. The car now has 112K miles with no real problems except the speed sensor has been replaced twice.

You might try posting this in General Tech.

sounds to me like a short in the wiring...not all that hard to troubleshoot if you have a multimeter and a wiring diagram.

It could be a loose connection on the light switch or a faulty light switch.

RE: Lights Blink on their own.
I had a problem with the interior lights blinking on intermittently. It ended up being a short in the light switch. It is possible that your headlights are also blinking on for the same reason.
