A couple of ques. about my 2000 neon
Hi all,
I am in the process of an overhaul on my neon. My next door neighbor who is a master mechanic and a great friend is gonna rebuild my engine, and overhaul my car for me to keep it running top notch. I have a 2000 neon es with an auto tranny. I wanted to put a 5-speed in, but I found a shift kit, from transgo,that will reprogram the valve body inside the tranny and make the shifting more responsive and reduce overlap. I was wondering if anyone has ever done this with their neon? My buddy says it should make a big diffrence with the shift kit and be alot cheaper than converting to a manual and save me alot of money on labor. I am also on the rebuild, gonna put in a crane performance cam, with new valve springs, cold air intake, have the head ported and polished, new gaskets, piston rings, etc. Sorry for blabbing, but just wanted to know if anyone has done the shift kit for their auto.
