2000 Dodge Neon 2.0 L Misfires
Hello all. I am new to this site and this is my first post. I have been on the forums for over 2 hours trying to find the post that would solve my dilemna. But to no avail.
I have a 2000 Dodge Neon 2 liter SOHC 16 valve motor. Everything in it is stock. I mean from bumper to bumper. The problem i am having is an electrical one. The engine has a severe misfire all the time. Initial start-up, warmed-up, parked or driving. The cylinders 2 and 3 have a very weak spark. Basically almost nothing, but very faint. Cylinders 1 and 4 are perfect. We have changed the crank sensor, computer, both coils(looks like one coil but inside it is two different.) ASD is functioning fine. Fuel pressure and engine compression on all cylinders is within acceptance.
Heres the stumper... No codes. No check engine light(except when u initially turn the key on.) I do have(actually friends) a mac mentor scan tool and it has no codes now or in the history of the car. Havent had the comp reset yet. Going to do that tomorrow, if i cannot resolve it here. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions i would greatly appreciate it. I will even put off the dealership if any advice is offered and will try it before the dealer.

maybe a bad PCM? Thats odd. How do you know the spark is weak, just a visual inspection of the jump? The plugs are gaped right? Maybe you got a bad coil pack, that kind of sounds like half the pack is not working right. I would check the wires that go into the pack and trace them back.

I had this same problem with my 04 except instead of giving me NO codes it gave me WRONG codes, lol. What I would do if I were you is check the spark plugs, O2 sensor and fuel injectors on your car. If you replace all of the above your car should be in ship shape.
