I'm adding fog lites (on a non fog bumper)
bored today, was off work... aquired some fog lites...
so got this far... removed one of the slats on both sides... put some filler, waiting for a full dry to really sand.... attached the mounts, sanded off the edge flush with the bumper... so far, so good... once all sanded, will repaint the flat black, then mount the lites and wire up http://www.wideopenwest.com/~whitedragon/fogs-02.jpg |
Damn that is nice. I want to do that too. Let us know how it turns out and take pictures!

Yeah, take some final install pictures. Looks good so far.

Good start. What kind of lights did you get?
|
i would put some fogs on mine but my es came with em soooo yea
but looks great so far pablo just make sure you bolt them b****es in ther nice and tight or you'll be shaking everywhere and fwi make sure you also have good grounds on the install or they wont come on and you have a chance of blowing them.that if your not using your battery....another question-are you wiring them into a fuse or to a switch cause most people have switches and if so where will you put it... ive installed fog lights before so i know a lil somethin about em...they suck if you get a s*** kind...but get back to us and good luck |
im putting fogs on my srt bumber let me know how u do da wiring
|
ok with a switch you have a wire that goes from the positive connector battery to the switch then you have a wire that goes to the negative battery connector to the switch as well.the switch should come with the lights...on the switch there are 3 prongs(1 for positive-2 for negative-and 3 for fog lights)now then there is a wire that will go from the switch to both fog lights and it should have a splitter in the middle of that wire to goto each fog light...
now some fogs wire different but thats the basics... now i've seen some that you have to have 2 seperate grounds for each light.and them get complicated.but the switch looks like this http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,.../selectZip.htm but they come with the lights usually.... and i would consider getting a switch one because if you run them constantly then one might go out and whats the point with driving with one... and if they dont work its most likely your ground... now if your talking about getting the whole housing for ones you dont install from like autozone or anywhere then i have no idea but GL to all who are doing this |

I'm using the switch that came with them..already a hole made for it...reason for the switches with 3 prongs, those are the ones that light up when on... that's why it needs pos., neg. and then a prong that goes to the lights.
the mounts are plastic so each light has a pos. and neg. wire... pretty straight forward for me since I been playing with wiring and electronics for over 30 years. I have more trouble making the body work smooth! it's also tricky on the mounts... making them parallel , straight, so the lites are pointing down the road, and not off to the side. that corner mounting point curves...that's why I had to shave off some of the bracket, it ended up sticking out |
looks good so far, cant wait to see finished pics!!!!
