Help!!! 2005 Dodge Neon
I have been having some problems with my car recently. I have sort of written down what has happened and when. When it first happened I got a complete Oil Change, New Spark Plugs and Wires.
1.Accelerated out of Parking Lot, Car started hesitating; Check Engine Light came on and start flashing. Pulled over, Error Codes are (P0339, P0335) 2.Driving down the road, Car started hesitating, kinda like it was getting air in the Fuel Line; Check Engine Light came on and start flashing. Pulled over, Error Codes are (P0339, P0335) 3.Accelerating onto the Freeway, Car hesitated and felt sluggish. No Check Engine Light 4.Driving down the Freeway, Cruise Control activated. Car felt like it slipped out of gear and Cruise Control was disabled. No Check Engine Light 5.Driving down the road, RPMs went to 0. Had to put the car in neutral and then back into Drive for it to go again. Check Engine Light came on. Pulled over and turned it off. Error Codes are (P0300, P0339, P0335). Tried starting car and it just kept turning over and had a hard time starting. 6. Driving down the road, Check Engine light started Flashing. Car would not go past 55 mph. Pulled over turned car off and back on. Check Engine Light was solid and was able to go 75 mph. I took it to a mechanic and hes not sure exactly what is wrong with it. Did a Compression test on it and everything looks good. Did a pressure test at the Radiator Cap and it is reading 25+ P.S.I. when I was told it should only be reading 13-16 P.S.I. Any help/recommendations would be helpful. Also it has 62,000 miles Thanks |
P0300 is a multiple cylinder misfire. check the gap on the plugs and check the cermaic part as well for any cracks. the gap should be at .035 check your wires as well for any cuts. as for P0335, P0339 thats dealing with your crankshaft position sensor. if your car is misfiring, that may cause it to throw the code. if you still need more info, im sure someone else on here can give you something in more detail.

Check the resistance on your ignition coil pack. These cars are notorious for them going bad.
Also like mcfisher said, plugs and wires |
ah yes. i knew i was forgetting the coil pack lol. gj spec

I don't know much about this car. How do I check the resistance or get it checked?
|
Nevermind, I found it. Will these items cause the car to hesitate and/or shut off while driving? I had the car shut off at a stop sign yesterday.
Thanks |
LOL, yes. If you don't have ignition, you don't have a running engine.
|
true. like i said in my previous post. check all your connections, wires, and plugs, coil pack. something isnt right there. if it still keeps messing up, i would suggest that you take it to someone who knows what they are doing, otherwise your going to wind up with more problems than what you have now.
