after adding spark plugs it sputter's
 

Hi, im new here and i was looking around to see if anyone else had this problem before me, but i had no luck finding this problem so im posting..

I recently replaced the spark plugs on my 02 neon SE, and now all of the sudden it sputters while accelerating, it was missing every once in a while with the old plugs.

I gaped the new ones to .035 and then when they sputtered I double checked to make sure the plugs were ok and they are..

Do you think I could have damaged the wires?

yes your wires are possibly damaged.i had the same problem.your wires have to kinda snap on to your plugs and eventually they will come apart or loose after time and not give your plug enough electric to fire.if you goto autozone the duralast ones are around 23 bucks and they've worked great for me for 9 months.for the supreme wires there are msd's(79.99).get you some new wires and you'll be good to go.

no new wires won't help your cause at all. Sorry n3on but he's haveing my problem you can't just change one. You have to change both the wires and the plugs at the same time. Our cars carbon track the wires and plugs making it almost impossible to change one and get rid of the problem your having. So your gonna have to buy new plugs and wires and you should be all set to go. I already went through this headache and it's a real pain.

Small next time you go through a "headache" like that post it so people like the OP here knows what he has to do. I hope he reads this in time before he goes and buys just the new wires. :)

all i did was buy new wires and my problem is solved.soooooo i guess i got lucky or somethin so hopefully he does too

What is "carbon tracking" anyways? I've never heard of that...

I changed my plugs out (no wires) and the car runs fine?

yea sorry pain just dont worry about the plugs and just change the wires you'll be fine,

I also have just changed the plugs and my car runs fine as well.
