Oil on spark plug thread cylinder #1.
So i got off my lazy @55 to check my air filter and plugs and everything looks great except there is oil all over the threads of plug 1. There was a small amount in the plug tube too, I mean this thing was dripping.
I believe it to be the Valve cover gasket. Any other opinions would be appreciated. |
Either the tubes are coming out and/or the tube seals need to be replaced. A bad valve cover gasket will cause a leak onto the head.

try tapping them back down (can be a temp fix) use an appropriate sized socket and tap them down a bit

Yeah the gasket kit comes with the new seals. That's what I'm referring to. I'll try tapping them down see what happens.

I found this youtube video while searching for stratus issue.

I found the same thing on #1 last year. It was causing a misfire the oil had come up so far and into the plug end. It was only #1 so I just tapped the tube down temp fix and it was fine until a couple months later it came up a little bit more but really didnt get hardly any oil in there. I just tap tube down every couple months but some day when im bored ill remove VC and fix it.

Yeah it's starting to cause a misfire when the engine is cold now.
