Default ATX to MTX

Been searching through older threads, and I feel like I need to ask questions more directly than what I'm finding in these threads, so I apologize if this info is in fact somewhere else, and I didn't see it.

1) Will ATX pcm work with MTX? Just recently bought this reman. pcm and i would hate to have to replace it for a different one; if it is necessary, would I at least be able to have it reprogrammed/reflashed to work for a MTX?

2) Which years of neon would be the smoothest transition (in terms of replacing the least amount of other components to make everything work) for a donor MTX? (mine is a 2000)

thanks guys..my ATX is shifting great after my rebuild, but it really feels like it should have a manual shifter, the ATX just seems to be killing its capability, lol

2000 would be the best since it's a cable clutch system. Any years after that(I believe) are hydraulic so you'd have to do some work with the firewall. As for the PCM, The ATX PCM has a rev limiter of 6,700 RPM whereas the MTX has a higher limiter.
