2003 neon engine code?
I am having a little problem with a 03 neon. I took it to the shop and got "transmission code 0841", says its a sensor cicuit. I was wondering if anyone had any info on this and if it's a serious problem or just minor. Thanks

RE: 2003 neon engine code?
Not sure what Year Neon this is information is for, but I am posting it from another website from
some mechanic in Virgina. I have a 2003 Neon with P0442 error code, which tells me its that darn evaporative problem again, just like the list show below, so it must be accurate: Ok, here's what you do: 1. Put the key in the ignition. 2. Turn key all the way forward - not to the point where the car starts, just to the point where all the lights come on. Do it in this sequence: ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON.. 3. Keep a close eye on your odometer. You will see a series of codes display, followed by the word "donE"... 4. These codes will tell you why the "Check Engine Light" is coming on. Someone has a list on the web somewhere of what they mean. 5. Now, I'm going to make you a bet... I bet that the codes you see will be "P1684" followed by "P0456". These codes mean respectively: Bat. has been disconnected within the last 50 starts, EVAP sensor detection... 6. IF IT IS THESE SET OF CODES, fear not - nothing is wrong with your car. Simply... 6a. Tighten your gas cap, then... 7. Pop the hood, disconnect the NEGATIVE battery terminal - DO NOT DISCONNECT THE POSITIVE TERMINAL - FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. You will run the risk of shorting out the electrical system. 8. Wait a couple of minutes, then reconnect. 9. Start the car up and TADA! CEL is gone! when the battery is disconnected you need to wait about 5 minutes for it to reset the computer...
