2005 SXT won't start
Okay. So, was driving my sxt down the road, heard some popping sounds coming from the amp I have in my trunk, pulled over, fearing fire, turned the car off, opened the trunk, was smoking a tiny bit, disconnected the amp. Went to start the car again, click, nothing.
I had a fuse on the wire that was running to the amp, it wasn't blown. I replaced the starter, thinking it might have been the issue, same thing. I also checked to make sure that the brand new alternator wasn't froze up, so I'm thinking it's still working. I used a multimeter to check the voltage on the battery, was at 12.45 which should be enough to turn the engine over, I believe. I hear the starter extending and engaging. I recently replaced the timing belt, water pump, and timing belt tensioner. Any idea what this might be? |
Update: Feel so stupid! Was my battery cables, apparently they were in worse shape then I had thought! Replaced them and it started right up.
