Default Rear Bumper troubles

Hello
My daughter has a 2000 neon and she got rear ended yesterday. The plastic rear bumper is broken in the middle all around the license plate. I believe there is foam underneath it. Is this something that is not hard to replace myself. I tried to search a video or info but have no luck so far. Has anyone done this and if so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
been a bad couple days

Pretty easy to remove. Usually held on by clips and screws/bolts. Just gotta find all of them. If you search "2000 dodge neon rear bumper removal" on Google, there are plenty of sites to tell you exactly how.

Gotta ask though. She was rear ended, the other drivers at fault? Their insurance should handle the repair.

It was the other drivers fault for sure and the police report states that. I was wondering if there is anything under there that may be broken besides the bumper cover and the foam underneath. The license plate light does not work either it did before. The car does seem to drive fine and I do not see anything bent underneath but not sure about behind the bumper. State farm is their insurance and they are going to send someone over to make an estimate I just wanna try and have my bases covered.

That's not really bad. My daughters 97 escort got bumped in a parking lot, rear passenger door had about a 6" long dent from another car running into the side of her. almost $1000 and there were no parts involved. Just labor for body work and paint.

Managed to find a used complete bumper from a local salvage yard for 107 dollars. It is the wrong color tan but we can make it red.

Why are you fixing it yourself if the other driver was at fault?
