40TE Transmission Reliability?

For anyone who happens to also have this transmission, how reliable has it been for you? My '05 SXT Neon had it replaced with a lower-mile unit in the past by a previous owner with one that had about 63k miles on it. It shifts pretty decent still and doesn't slip one bit, but I was curious about how many miles on average people have got out of theirs.

If it ever goes out I'll probably just pay up and swap it out for a five speed or maybe just buy a first gen Neon, aha.

The original trans in my '03 SXT was replaced with a rebuilt unit at just under 100,000, the replacement now has about 55,000 on it and works fine.
Reliability wise I'm sure the biggest variable is how it was treated and maintained, which is why I don't like using used parts - you don't know the history and have no clue how long it will last.
Also it's my understanding the 04 & 05 Neons used a slightly different trans (41TE)that used lighter and less expensive parts, ie: cheaper, so durability will also depend on what year of trans they used.

How the 4-speed holds up is directly related to how it's driven and how it's maintained.

30-50k depending on use for fluid/filter changes, using only ATF+4 (not a compatible) and a Mopar filter is a correct service interval.

Properly serviced, the 4-speeds have little issue making well over 200k.

If by chance the transmission goes out before the engine ever starts having issues, would a 41TE work with the 40TE TCM and all?
