Sounds like the belt alignment is off. You can adjust the alignment by either pressing or pulling the P/S pulley whichever way it needs to go, using pulley tools.

I've got 3 new belts and before i replaced the alternator belt is was squeling on startup for about 5 seconds then went away, so i changed it and its gone now

I started with the easier of the two suggested fixes. I tightened the PS belt beyond where I usually stop and that seemed to work.

Thank you both.....

How did you tighten the PS belt? I don't see where to adjust it.

There's an adjustment bolt by the alternator.

Wouldn't that then tighten the alternator belt?

There's 1 belt for the alternator. Then there's 1 belt for the PS/AC/tension pulley. Correct?

I can't remember which belts are together, honestly. I'll have to go look it up...
OK. Yeah, there's an alternator belt and then the PS/AC belt. The other person probably meant the alternator belt. If there's a tension problem with the PS/AC belt, it might be a tensioner problem.

You can see why I have problems. I tightened the alternator belt. The serpentine runs the ps, ac and tensioner.

The only adjustment you can really do is on the belt alignment itself. I've never done it on these cars but with most vehicles it is usually done with the P/S pulley.

I can see how the tensioner pulley arm can get tweaked a lil bit if you don't use a large breakover bar as well, when I replaced mine the previous owner had used screw drivers to hold it back for belt installation and I think the pulley bolt was tweaked inward because the belt used to slip off during heavy rains. Way back in the early days though.

oh by btw saw my 1st dart & srt neon street race this morning from a stop light, the dart smoked the SRT... lol
