Any of you that are running an after market muffler, let us know what you think about it here. How does it sound? How well does it perform?

I run a Vortex muffler, which is a maremont product (cherrybomb) but is an oval muffler. I have no complaints on the performance or sound of it.

I'm running Dual out Flowmaster. But I REALLY want to go back to a Super Turbo badly. I'm thinking of going to a Hooker Aero chamber muffler.

i also have a 3'inch DMH electric cutout awesome tool to bypass your whole exhaust system to have the open headers , i absolutly love the sound of my cutout!! go to race someone or back roads "open it up"... coming home late or cops around "close it up".. its awesome too have a open loud exhaust when you want ,and still have a quite system too kick back on ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZnpHEnYe5I

Thrush Glasspack, real nice mellow rumble at idle, once you get past 2 grand, she really starts talking

it's also dumped before the rear tire

y pipe that splits into 2 pipes even with the charcoal canister with 4" stainless tips. it used to be a 1 in 2 out flowmaster (too quiet), then 2 thrush glass packs (better but still to quiet) and now the y pipe (perfect).

it has a deep grumble at idle and is really throaty at wide open throttle.
the only time it has that rapping noise is on the first take off on a cold start, after that its more of a rumble.

EDIT: I replaced the stock cat with a Magnaflow cat and I got that snapping/popping noise above 2000 rpm, so I put a single Thrush glass pack between the cat and the 2nd y-pipe.

Aero Turbine. It's perfect in every way. Sounds and performs better than the 40 series it replaced. It also doesn't drone, it's plenty loud, straight through, no packing to burn out, 100% stainless.
