What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
97 ram sport
Hello all just bought a 97 ram 1500 sport (according to build sheet) that i will start a true restoration on. Body is pretty straight, engine is OK. its a 5.9 with the auto. the front is the non-sport i believe so that is gonna change to the painted sport look. wish me luck everyone!! Any Suggestions welcome!!!!!
Yes it was according to the carfax. i guess it was cheaper to build her the wrong way. ordered the bumper and grill along with the headlights today and undecided if i go with the bumper or a roll pan on the back. we shall see!!!
Make it the truck you want it to be.
That's a sweet looking truck!
What I did with my 2nd Gen today (well, actually yesterday)... Well, my truck lives at my parents since I don't have room at my place (I have multiple vehicles), and my dad had his GMC Safari van parked next to my truck. It snowed, they didn't shovel the driveway, and my dad tried to get his van out of the snow. When he did, it spun around 180 degrees, then slid sideways and lodged the 2 passenger side wheels in a ditch between his driveway and the neighbor's fence. I drove over there, cleaned my truck off, warmed it up, cleared a path in the driveway for me to drive around his van (now facing my truck, sitting about 5 feet in front of it), hooked a recovery strap from my truck to his van and pulled his van down the driveway and out of the ditch. I pulled his van with no problem, even ran over one of my parent's bushed in the process... Oops...

I didnt do this today but rather a couple months before I joined this forum. (June of 2015)Bought a set of SLT wheels for 100.00 dollars. Didnt come with caps or lugs. Clear coat was pealing and cloudy. Most important no deep scratches. Spent one Sunday afternoon in the shade applying paint stripper to em. While one set another got the stripper and so on. Hosed em off after each coat. Each wheel took about 3 coats. Used an aluminum wheel polishing kit from Walmart. It came with a cone shaped sponge that fits in a drill. Works wonders. Since my truck originally came with the steel wheels I thought the center caps would fit right up. No sir. I had to cut the shoulder down 1/4 inch so they would grab the lug nuts. I thought they turned out pretty good. Hence the signature picture.
