I don't really remember it doing it last night when I drove it over there either (I was kinda buzzed though so it might have been). It sounds like its coming from around the tensioner so it might be that. The idle was a little weird when I first fired it up too and the wideband was showing lean. I'll have to keep an eye on that.

Ordered my viair 480 last night. All air horn parts are on their way
upon further inspection I think it's the alt. Good thing I planed on changing that someday anyway

well my replacement hid came in today, gona put those back in, god i cnt stand halongens anymore, its like day and night between a standard halogen and hids. anyways...some time in the next few months im gonna do the hughes kit, though i might go with the aps one, since it comes with the bolts already, got a price form advance about 140 for intake gasket set, new water pump with lifetime warrenty(sp?) thermostat, and intake manifold bolt set.

im thinking about doing the timing chain as well, any thoughts on that?

ive never really done a t-chain before, and i really dont know what im getting into, i know you have to line up the notches, but i saw something online when i was looking at double rollers, that said +2*, 0*, -2* for the key ways, and i dont knwo what theyre talking about.

also how would you time them if #1 isnt at tdc?

would you have to turn it over until the notches on cam, and crank line up? or how would you do that?

I have never done a dodge motor, but on Ford and Chevy, make sure you are at tdc and DO NOT rotate the motor until you have removed and replaced the timing chain and gears. Line up the dots on the gears. You want to keep it a 0deg, (not -2 or +2) unless you have a high performance setup, which I'm guessing it's not. Then reassemble.

The gears will have 3 notches, the center ones are 0*.

ya, though the sets i was looking at used keyways to adjust the degrees. i think...

so i just take it down to the timing chanin, and manually turn the motor over until the dots on the sprockets line up, and pull em off, replace em, then reasemble?

Finally got to wash the truck today. It was pretty much a quick over on the outside to get rid of all the junk that built up over the 2 days of driving. Found out while washing the truck that next weekend, after I move into my new house, I will need to spend an entire day to detail the truck as best as I can possibly get it. I'm noticing lots of things wrong with the truck that needs to get fix before I continue with the upgrades to the motor. Thinking I might need new tires abd if i get new tires, I might as well get new rims. I want to upgrade my brakes to the best they can be because I don't like my breaking power atm. Also have some cosmetic work on the front of the truck to take care off and an exhust to replace.

...sorry for ramble...if any of it doesn't make sense, it's because of Ambien
