What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
#6361
I've used it enough to where my arms don't hurt afterword.
Mine did too, fell apart on the right side of the driver's side.
Doesn't look too bad, but what's with the ground? It is messing with my mind. o.O
Shut up.
Shut up.

Pulled my transmission
1996 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L V8 Manual Transmission
I successfully pulled my transmission today.. I think it's a NV3500/Getrag HM290 from the 94-96 series of ram trucks 1500-2500 series... I had a friend help out with it, you'll see him in the pictures posted below... I'm stoked that I was able to pull it without destroying the entire truck... I say that because the most work I've ever done on a vehicle... **disclaimer** is replace a aftermarket radio with another aftermarket radio... Thus, pulling the transmission... I'm excited.
I dropped it off at a shop locally and they are tearing it down and letting me know exactly what is wrong...for free! Maybe this is a standard practice, but I'm hopeful they will tell me what is wrong and then if it's over $200 bucks or so (since I'm doing the uninstall/reinstall), I may try to find the parts and reassemble it myself... what's the worst could happen? The transmission didn't work before, if it doesn't work after... I'm out some $$... but hell, I should learn something! The lesson may be never work work on a transmission again... or that I'm extremely lucky... who knows! I'll make sure I let everyone else know either way...
Anyone have any suggestions for items I should look at while the transmission is out? I may replace the clutch to save myself time... but the removal wasn't that bad... said the damn cross support member that was ridiculously squeezed between the frame.. that was a pain to remove... aside that... not bad!
Thoughts gentlemen and ladies?
